Josh Ayers is a linebacker for the Colorado State Rams. The Castle Rock, Colorado native played at Lutheran High School under coach Stephen Robbins, where he recorded 119 tackles, including 83 solo, during his senior season. He added 8.5 sacks, 19 quarterback hurries, and three fumble recoveries that year, earning Lutheran Football Player of the Year honors and CHSAA/MaxPreps All-State second team recognition. Ayers walked on to the Colorado State program in 2023 and was redshirted. He did not appear in games during the 2024 and 2025 seasons and returns as a redshirt junior for 2026.
