Cameron Avery is a linebacker for Coastal Carolina from Summerville, South Carolina, where he attended Cane Bay High School. In high school, he finished with 318 tackles, 38 tackles-for-loss, 10.0 sacks, and three interceptions over his career. He was ranked No. 98 overall in South Carolina's Class of 2023 by Prep Redzone and earned all-state honors his senior year. Avery played in one game during his freshman year in 2023, appeared in seven games as a redshirt freshman in 2024, and saw action in five games in 2025, recording four total tackles including two against Marshall on 10/30.
