Patrick Bauer is a defensive end from Mount Prospect, Illinois, who played three seasons at St. Viator High School under head coach David Archibald. As a senior, he led his team in total tackles and served as captain, earning CCL/ESCC Purple Division All-Conference honors and IHSA Class 5A Academic All-State recognition. After redshirting in 2023, Bauer saw action in 12 games in 2024, recording 20 total tackles, one sack, and two tackles for loss. During Illinois State's 2025 FCS national championship run, he finished third on the team with 8.5 TFLs and five pass breakups, including a season-high seven tackles against Oklahoma and PBUs in both the semifinal and title game. He transferred to Cincinnati as a redshirt junior.
