Kadin Schmitz is a 6'1", 235-pound weakside linebacker for Charlotte who transferred from Ohio. The Ashland, Ohio native appeared in 11 games during his 2023 freshman season, then played in 14 games with one start in 2024, recording 33 tackles, four tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks. In 2025, Schmitz played in every game for the 49ers, starting all but one. He finished second on the team with 66 total tackles—including 29 solo stops—and led the defense with 37 assist tackles. Schmitz recorded two interceptions, returning one 21 yards, and added three quarterback hurries and two pass breakups.
