Grayson Loftis, a 6'3" quarterback from Gaffney, South Carolina, transferred to Charlotte after two seasons at Duke. At Duke, he appeared in 10 games and started the final five games of 2023 as a true freshman, completing 91 of 163 passes for 1,006 yards, eight touchdowns, and four interceptions. In his 2025 redshirt sophomore season with the 49ers, Loftis played in all but one game and started seven, becoming the primary starter in week five. He led the quarterback room with 128 completions on 232 attempts for 1,415 yards and eight touchdowns against eight interceptions. His season included performances of 295 yards and two scores against North Texas and 279 yards with three touchdowns at East Carolina.
