Preston Rex is a running back for BYU listed at 6'0" and 200 pounds. A native of San Clemente, California, Rex completed a two-year religious mission in Chile and Texas (2020–22) before joining the Cougars. At San Clemente High School, he earned consensus three-star status and was selected All-South Coast League at wide receiver and safety. In 2025, Rex appeared in limited capacity with 13 rushing attempts for 30 yards and 3 receptions for 50 yards. As a returning redshirt senior, he maintains an economics major.
