A three-star recruit in the 2024 class, Leonard redshirted his freshman season at Buffalo in 2024 after appearing in five games primarily on special teams, recording a tackle against Toledo on October 12. In 2025, his redshirt-sophomore year, Leonard appeared in 10 games, again primarily contributing on special teams.
