Alex Heininger is a 6'4", 295-pound left guard from Rochester, NY who attended Brighton High School before playing one season at Central Michigan. He joined Buffalo in 2023 and redshirted that year while working with scout teams. In 2024, Heininger appeared in four games. During the 2025 season, he took on increased responsibility, appearing in 10 games with nine starts at left guard. He is currently a redshirt senior pursuing a degree in Exercise Science.
