Lawson Petty is a 6'3", 305-pound right guard from Dallas who attended Highland Park High School, where he earned first-team all-district honors as a junior and senior and served as team captain. He spent three seasons at Incarnate Word (UIW), redshirting in 2023 before appearing in three games that year. In 2024, Petty took the field in five contests. During the 2025 season, he played in 11 of 12 games at both guard positions and contributed on special teams, recording one start at left guard versus Lamar. He helped support a UIW offense that accumulated 2,171 rushing yards. Petty transferred to Baylor as a redshirt junior.
