Colby McCalister is a safety from Houston, Texas who transferred to Baylor from Kansas State. At Clear Brook HS, he was a three-year starter and earned all-district honors three times. McCalister spent 2022–25 at Kansas State, redshirting in 2022. During the 2023 season, he appeared in 13 contests and recorded 27 tackles, 1.5 for a loss, one sack, a pass breakup and a forced fumble. In 2024, he played 12 regular-season games with starts against Colorado, Arizona State and Cincinnati, totaling 24 tackles, one pass breakup and one fumble recovery. He returned a blocked punt one yard for a touchdown versus UT Martin. McCalister did not see action in 2025 while recovering from injury.
