Layton Starks is a 6'4", 237-pound rusher from Versailles, Kentucky, who attended Woodford County High School. At Woodford County, Starks played wide receiver and defensive end and was a 2022 teammate of Cardinals offensive lineman Tristan Cook. He helped the Yellowjackets reach the Kentucky Class 5A playoffs with a 6-4 record and also competed on the basketball team. Starks appeared in two games for Ball State during the 2024 season, facing Bowling Green and Ohio. In 2025, he recorded 10 total tackles, 7 solo tackles, and 1 tackle for loss while recovering 2 fumbles.
