Cole Stumbaugh is a 6'2", 223-pound holder for Ball State. A native of Plainfield, Illinois, he attended Montini Catholic High School, where he was a three-year varsity player and earned third-team all-conference honors as a senior while helping lead the team to a state runner-up finish. Stumbaugh did not see action during his first college season in 2024. In 2025, his redshirt freshman year, he held on all placekicking attempts over 12 games and served as backup punter. He earned Academic All-MAC recognition and received the 2026 Heart of the Cardinal Award for community service with the special teams unit. Stumbaugh returns for his third college season as the Cardinals' incumbent holder.
