Jared Smith, a 6'6" 260-pound buck from Birmingham, Alabama, played at Thompson High School where he recorded 78 tackles, 7.5 sacks, and 20 QB hurries as a senior. He earned Class 7A state lineman of the year honors and was rated the No. 2 overall recruit in Alabama. In 2025, Smith appeared in 11 games on the edge for Auburn, posting five total tackles with four tackles for loss, including two sacks. He recorded his first career sack against Ball State on September 6 and added another sack versus South Alabama on September 13, along with a forced fumble in that contest.
