DeShawn Spencer is a true freshman wide receiver-hybrid for the Auburn Tigers. The Mobile, Alabama native played at Saraland High School under coach Jeff Kelly, where he recorded 76 receptions for 1,385 yards and 20 touchdowns during his senior season. As a junior, he tallied 54 catches for 1,220 yards and 16 touchdowns. Spencer also contributed 444 rushing yards and five touchdowns as a senior and earned ASWA first-team All-State honors. He participated in the Alabama versus Mississippi All-Star Game and was selected as Alabama Class 6A Player of the Week.
