Kyan McDonald is a free safety for Arizona State, standing 5'11" and weighing 180 pounds. A native of Seattle, Washington, McDonald attended O'Dea High School, where he earned consensus three-star recognition and was ranked among the state's top prospects by recruiting services. He made the 2023 Metro League Mountain Division All-League team as Defensive MVP and appeared on the News Tribune's All-State squad. As a true freshman in 2024, McDonald appeared in all but three games, logging 71 special teams snaps and recording one tackle.
