Kyan McDonald is a free safety for Arizona State, standing 5'11" and weighing 180 pounds. A native of Seattle, Washington, McDonald attended O'Dea High School, where he earned consensus three-star recognition and was ranked among the state's top prospects by recruiting services. He made the 2023 Metro League Mountain Division All-League team as Defensive MVP and appeared on the News Tribune's All-State squad. As a true freshman in 2024, McDonald appeared in all but three games, logging 71 special teams snaps and recording one tackle. He tallied 15 total defensive snaps and one tackle for loss during the season. McDonald returns for his junior year as a member of the Sun Devils roster.
