Tyriq Poindexter is a redshirt senior right tackle for the App State Mountaineers from Roanoke, Virginia. He attended William Fleming High School, where he played offensive line and defensive end and earned second team all-region honors. Poindexter played 26 games for VMI from 2021 to 2024, appearing in three games as a true freshman in 2021 before redshirting in 2022. He started all 11 games in 2023, primarily at right tackle, and was a preseason All-SoCon selection. In 2024, he started all 12 games at left tackle and earned All-SoCon first team recognition. He transferred to App State with one season of eligibility remaining and was named Preseason All-Sun Belt second team via Phil Steele. In 2025, Poindexter started the season opener against Charlotte at right tackle but missed the remainder of the season due to injury.
