He appeared in two contests during his freshman season, recording 10 rushes for 30 yards and two receptions for nine yards. In 2025, Riley earned an expanded role in the backfield, contributing in 11 games with two starts. He carried the ball 59 times for 224 yards and two touchdowns while adding 19 receptions for 176 yards and a receiving touchdown. An injury sidelined him prior to the Eastern Illinois game before his return in the Rose Bowl contest.
