Zach Hobson is a left cornerback standing 6'3" and weighing 195 pounds who transferred to Akron from Old Dominion. Originally from Dallas, TX, Hobson attended multiple schools including South Forsyth, Concord, West Virginia State, and Old Dominion. At Concord, he started 10 games across two seasons while recording 15 tackles and four pass breakups in 14 appearances. During 2024 at West Virginia State, Hobson registered 29 tackles, one tackle for loss, and five pass breakups. He appeared in two games during the 2025 season at Old Dominion, recording one tackle before joining the Zips as a redshirt senior.
