Marcel Williams, a wide receiver from Hollywood, Florida, attended Blanche Ely High School before redshirting at Marshall in 2024, appearing in the SBC championship game against Louisiana. He transferred to Akron for the 2025 season and appeared in all 12 games, starting each contest. Williams caught 45 passes for 641 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 14.2 yards per reception and 53.4 yards per game. His best performance came against Kent State on November 11, when he had 14 receptions for 206 yards and two touchdowns. He recorded a season-long reception of 46 yards and earned 2nd Team All-MAC honors.
