Carlos Slayden is a 6'4", 300-pound right guard from Corpus Christi, TX, who played his final high school season at Flour Bluff HS after starting at Cordova High School. He helped lead Flour Bluff to a regional title and an 11-3 record as a senior and also competed in basketball. Slayden spent two seasons at Tyler JC before transferring to Troy, where he started at right tackle in week two against Memphis in 2024 and appeared in three games while recording 45 total snaps before redshirting. He spent 2025 at Southern Miss, appearing in six games and recording one tackle. Slayden is now a redshirt senior transfer with Akron.
