Sam Okuayinonu is a 6'1", 269-pound right defensive end for the San Francisco 49ers entering his fifth season in the NFL. Born in Monrovia, Liberia, and raised in Lowell, Massachusetts, Okuayinonu attended Maryland after beginning his college career at Mesabi Range Community College in 2017, where he earned Minnesota College Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors. Over three seasons at Maryland (2019–21), he compiled 103 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks across 28 games. Originally signed by Tennessee, Okuayinonu recorded 3.0 sacks in 2025 with San Francisco.
