Background & career

Kahlef Hailassie is a 6'1", 200-pound cornerback from Elk Grove, California, who attended Western Kentucky and Oregon. Signed as an undrafted free agent by Kansas City following the 2023 NFL Draft, he was waived during final roster cuts and joined Cleveland, where he appeared in 10 games with one start. Hailassie logged eight tackles, one tackle for loss, and one pass defensed with the Browns. He rejoined Minnesota's practice squad and was elevated to Jacksonville's active roster on September 17, 2025, remaining there for eight weeks before his release on November 17. He returns to the Vikings for a second tenure with the organization.
