Maliek Hawkins is a nickelback for West Virginia, standing 6'0" and weighing 192 pounds. The Dallas native played cornerback at Emerson High School under coach Kendall Miller, earning All-Frisco-ISD First-Team honors as a senior with 28 tackles, one interception, four pass breakups and two fumble recoveries. He recorded 33 tackles and four pass breakups as a junior when Emerson reached the Class 5A Division II state semifinals. Hawkins enrolled at Oklahoma in January 2025 and appeared in a game against Kent State before redshirting. He is majoring in sport management and transferred to West Virginia as a redshirt freshman.
