Ben Cutter, a 6'0", 226-pound linebacker from Denver, NC, attended East Lincoln High School where he earned two Western Foothills Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors. A three-star recruit in the 2023 class, he joined West Virginia and appeared in 13 games as a freshman, posting 56 tackles including 28 solo stops and earning Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team recognition. In 2024, he played in all 13 games with two starts, recording 39 tackles and 10 unassisted stops. During the 2025 season, Cutter appeared in all 12 games with one start, finishing as the team's sixth-leading tackler with 38 total tackles (16 solo), one sack, 3.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions, a pass breakup, and a fumble recovery.
