Matt Herron is a defensive tackle from Holladay, Utah, who graduated from Olympus High School in 2022 with first-team All-Region and second-team All-State honors. He signed with Weber State in February 2022 and redshirted his freshman year before appearing in all 11 games in 2023, recording 22 tackles and 5.5 tackles for loss. In 2024, Herron played in all 12 games and posted 24 total tackles with 5.5 tackles for loss. Most recently, he appeared in all 12 games in 2025, compiling 46 total tackles, 9.0 tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks. Herron transfers to Wake Forest as a redshirt senior.
