Jekail Middlebrook is a running back from Atlanta, Georgia, who attended Langston Hughes High School before playing at Middle Tennessee State. As a senior in high school, he rushed for 1,400 yards and 24 total touchdowns. At MTSU, Middlebrook earned Honorable Mention All-CUSA recognition in 2025 after starting 11 games. That season, he posted 752 rushing yards and four touchdowns while recording a personal-high 40 receptions for 412 yards and three scores—placing him among the top five nationally in receptions among running backs. His 1,228 all-purpose yards represented the team total and marked the first MTSU back to surpass 1,000 yards since 2016. Middlebrook transferred to Virginia as a redshirt junior.
