Christian Ellis is a 6'0", 206-pound safety from Jacksonville, Florida, who attended Ed White High School. A three-star recruit in the 2022 class, Ellis played at Virginia Tech before entering the transfer portal in 2025. He appeared in four of the team's first five games, recording seven tackles (five solo) and three pass breakups, including a fourth-down breakup with 45 seconds remaining that sealed a 23-21 victory at NC State on September 27. Prior to joining Virginia, Ellis spent two seasons at New Mexico, where he started all 12 games in 2024 and tallied 99 tackles (42 solo), one interception, one fumble recovery, four pass breakups, and two quarterback hurries.
