Emmett Laws is a 6'0", 302-pound redshirt sophomore defensive lineman for Virginia Tech. A native of Elkton, Maryland, Laws attended DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, where he was named the 2023 Washington Catholic Athletic Conference Capital Division Defensive Player of the Year and earned three consecutive All-Capital Conference selections. In 2024, his first year with the Hokies, Laws appeared in two games with two tackles.
