Bryce Baker is a quarterback who transferred to Virginia Tech from North Carolina as a redshirt freshman. The 6'2", 212-pound native of Kernersville, NC, arrived as a four-year recruit ranked 74th nationally and 11th among quarterbacks by recruiting services. At East Forsyth High School, Baker completed 70.6 percent of his passes for 6,605 yards and 79 touchdowns over his final two seasons while leading the program to a 23-3 record and two conference titles. During his senior year, he threw for 3,523 yards and 40 touchdowns with a 74.8 completion percentage, adding 536 rushing yards and nine rushing scores.
