Max Gerlich is a redshirt freshman quarterback for UTSA standing 6'3" and weighing 215 pounds. The Austin, Texas native was a three-star prospect in the 2025 recruiting class. At Anderson High School, Gerlich threw for 3,095 yards and 41 touchdowns on 171-of-270 passing during his 2024 senior season, adding 226 rushing yards and three scores. He posted six 300-yard passing games and a 135.5 quarterback rating, earning District 12-5A Division I Offensive MVP honors. Notable performances included 413 passing yards with five touchdowns against Pflugerville Hendrickson and 338 yards with six touchdowns against Kyle Lehman.
