CJ Lavender is a true freshman defensive back for UCLA from Fontana, California. A three-star recruit, he was ranked as the 87th cornerback nationally and 78th overall in California by recruiting services. During his final season at Mater Dei High School in 2025, Lavender recorded seven interceptions, 58 tackles, five pass breakups, and one forced fumble recovery. He notched two interceptions in a 36-31 victory over No. 1-ranked St. John Bosco in October 2025 and was named Trinity League MVP.
