Jack James is a redshirt freshman quarterback at Troy from Paducah, Kentucky. He attended Paducah Tilghman High School, where he led the Tigers to a 15-0 record and the Kentucky 4A State Championship while earning Kentucky Football Coaches Association Player of the Year honors. As a senior, he threw five touchdown passes in the state semifinals, with his third setting a new KHSAA record for career touchdown passes. He entered the championship game with 13,642 passing yards, 180 passing touchdowns, and 1,543 attempts, all state records.
