Brian Tapu is a 6'5", 295-pound offensive lineman from South Auckland, New Zealand, who transferred to San José State in 2026. He attended Salt Lake City West High School in Utah after relocating from New Zealand in 2023. As a three-star recruit, Tapu was ranked among the top 65 offensive tackle prospects nationally by Rivals. In his single high school season, he anchored an offensive line that helped the Panthers average 35 points per game, 325 passing yards, and 285 rushing yards per game. Tapu redshirted during his 2025 season at Nebraska without appearing in a game. He selected SJSU for its construction management and communications programs.
