Kamari Maxwell is a 6'1", 195-pound wide receiver from Savannah, GA who transferred to Sam Houston from Austin Peay. At New Hempstead High School, Maxwell compiled 4,271 all-purpose yards and 33 combined touchdowns across his prep career, including 2,333 receiving yards and 27 receiving touchdowns. As a senior, he recorded 87 receptions for 1,344 receiving yards, the second-most in Georgia that season, and finished with 1,969 all-purpose yards. In his 2025 freshman season with the Bearkats, Maxwell appeared in 12 games, recording 23 receptions for 385 yards and 4 touchdowns.
