AJ Surace is a redshirt sophomore quarterback for Rutgers who hails from Pennington, New Jersey, and attended Notre Dame High School. A four-star recruit ranked 419th nationally in the 2024 class, Surace completed 122 of 174 passes for 1,839 yards and 25 touchdowns during his senior season at Notre Dame. In 2025, his first year of competition, he appeared in three games and completed 4 of 9 passes for 58 yards with 2 touchdowns, including his collegiate debut against Norfolk State on 9/13.
