Daveon Hook is a safety from Cibolo, Texas, where he was a three-year starter at Steele High School and earned First Team All-State honors as a senior. He joined Rice as a true freshman walk-on in 2022, appearing in eight games with 10 tackles. Over his first three seasons, Hook played in 31 consecutive games and recorded 42 solo tackles in 2024 across all 12 contests. In 2025, he appeared in five games before injuries limited his availability, posting 11 solo tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss including his first career sack, and one sack.
