John Slaughter is a safety from Clarksdale, Mississippi, who attended Southaven High School before playing college football at Tennessee and Colorado. He appeared in all 13 games as a freshman at Tennessee in 2023, making his collegiate debut against Virginia. In 2024 as a sophomore, he appeared in 10 games and recorded five tackles, 0.5 tackles-for-loss, and one interception, including his first collegiate interception against UTEP. As a junior at Colorado in 2025, Slaughter appeared in 11 games with three starts, totaling 25 tackles, two interceptions, and one forced fumble. He is currently a transfer with Purdue.
