Braden Atkinson is a quarterback from Raleigh, North Carolina who transferred to Oregon State from Mercer. At Rolesville High School, he completed 68.3 percent of his passes as a senior with 3,925 yards and 53 touchdowns, earning All-State and All-League honors. He finished his prep career with over 9,400 passing yards and 121 touchdowns. During his 2025 season at Mercer, Atkinson played in 11 games and passed for 3,596 yards and 34 touchdowns on 268-of-406 completions (66 percent) with 11 interceptions. He was named the 2025 Jerry Rice Award winner, Second-Team All-SoCon selection, and SoCon Freshman of the Year. Atkinson set the Mercer single-game record with 533 passing yards against VMI.
