Rudy Vargas Jr. is a 6'2", 287-pound defensive lineman from Junction City, Kansas. He attended Junction City High School before playing three seasons at Hutchinson Community College from 2022 to 2024. During his redshirt freshman year in 2023, Vargas appeared in eight games and recorded 12.0 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss, and a pass breakup. In 2024, he played in 11 games, tallying 17 tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss. Vargas joined North Texas as a transfer for the 2025 season, appearing in 10 games with one start against Temple. He finished with five total tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss.
