James Tyre, a 5'8" wide receiver from Suwanee, Georgia, transferred to North Texas after three seasons at Western Carolina. During his 2025 campaign, Tyre started all 12 games and recorded 68 receptions for 832 yards and 11 touchdowns, earning First Team All-Southern Conference honors. He posted multiple multi-touchdown performances, including 13 catches for 102 yards and three scores against Wofford. Tyre also contributed in the backfield and on trick plays, tallying a 62-yard rushing touchdown against Elon and throwing a 61-yard touchdown pass at Campbell.
