Evan Young is a safety for the Michigan State Spartans who redshirted his first season. The 6'0", 196-pound sophomore from Lufkin, Texas was a three-star recruit ranked 1008 overall in the Class of 2025. During the 2025 season, Young appeared in four games (Indiana, Michigan, Iowa, and Maryland) while preserving his redshirt, recording 34 special teams appearances and making his collegiate debut at Indiana on October 18. At Lufkin High School, Young recorded 47 tackles, 11 pass break-ups, two tackles for loss, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery as a senior, helping the team to a 10-2 record and a Texas 5A Division 1 state playoff berth.
