Elija Lofton is a 6'3", 242-pound tight end from Las Vegas, Nevada, who attended Bishop Gorman High School. A four-star recruit ranked 274th nationally in the 2024 class, Lofton appeared in all 13 games as a true freshman in 2024, catching nine passes for 150 yards with one touchdown and adding two rushes for 30 yards including a 28-yard run. In his 2025 sophomore season, he saw action in 15 games with four starts and ranked fourth on Miami in receptions (23) and receiving yards (218). Lofton caught passes in multiple contests throughout the season, including a 29-yard reception against NC State that resulted in a touchdown, and scored three total touchdowns while rushing three times for 11 yards.
