Joel Starlings is a redshirt junior defensive tackle for Maryland who transferred from the University of North Carolina. The Richmond, Virginia native was a four-star recruit ranked No. 12 nationally at his position in 2023. In his first season as a Terp, Starlings appeared in 11 games and recorded seven tackles, one sack, and one QB hurry.
