Kailep Edwards is a 6'0", 220-pound linebacker from Wallace, Louisiana, who attended West St. John High School. As a three-star recruit ranked No. 26 in Louisiana by recruiting services, he chose Louisiana over multiple Power Five programs. Edwards appeared in 10 games as a freshman in 2022, recording six tackles and a half tackle for loss. In 2023, he made 12 appearances with one start, accumulating 35 tackles and a tackle for loss across the season. During his junior year in 2024, he appeared in the first four games before redshirting the remainder of the regular season but played in postseason contests against Marshall and TCU.
