A native of Monroe, Louisiana, Riley attended Neville High School where he recorded 63 tackles with four interceptions and earned three-star recruit status from recruiting services. He ranked as the No. 43 prospect in Louisiana according to recruiting services. Riley chose Louisiana over scholarship offers from Arizona State and ULM.
