Chase Jenkins is a 6'0", 204-pound quarterback from Houston, Texas, who attended Alief Taylor High School. A three-star recruit in the 2023 class, Jenkins joined Rice as a spring enrollee and appeared in four games that season, completing 13 of 19 passes for 100 yards while rushing for 82 yards and one touchdown. In 2024, he switched to wide receiver and played in two games on a redshirt. Moving back to quarterback in 2025 under a spread option scheme, Jenkins completed 69.2% of his passes and set a Rice school record. He recorded 513 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns while throwing for 1,000 yards, becoming the fifth Owl with those dual thresholds. Jenkins started all 12 regular season games, the first Rice quarterback to do so since 2016. He now transfers to Kansas as a redshirt junior. From Alief Taylor HS · Houston, TX.
