Avery Johnson, a 6'3" senior quarterback from Wichita, Kansas, enters his final season at Kansas State having established himself among the program's all-time leaders. As a true freshman in 2023, Johnson earned Big 12 Newcomer of the Week honors and was named Pop-Tarts Bowl MVP. In 2024, he started all 12 games and threw for 2,712 yards with 25 passing touchdowns while rushing for 605 yards and seven scores. During the 2025 season, Johnson started all 12 contests, completing 204 of 341 passes for 2,380 yards and 18 touchdowns while adding 477 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on 109 carries.
