JT Hooten is a linebacker from Daleville, Alabama who attended Enterprise High School before playing at West Alabama. As a senior in high school, he earned ASWA 7A Second Team All-State honors after recording 99 tackles and 3.0 sacks. During the 2025 season at West Alabama, Hooten started all nine games at the position and recorded 69 tackles (24 solo), 5.5 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, and one fumble recovery. He was named First Team All-Gulf South Conference and earned GSC Defensive Player of the Week after posting 17 tackles with a tackle for loss against Charleston on September 13.
