Josh Placzek is a kicker for the Indiana Hoosiers who joined the program as a walk-on in fall 2024. The Carmel, Indiana native redshirted his first collegiate season without appearing in games. In 2025, Placzek made his collegiate debut against Indiana State on September 12, connecting on five second-half kickoffs for a 57.8-yard average. He earned Academic All-Big Ten honors that season. At Carmel High School under coach John Hebert, Placzek converted all six field goal attempts and went 17-of-17 on PATs as a senior, including three makes from 40-plus yards with a long of 46.
