Des Straughton is a defensive back for Illinois standing 6'0" and weighing 210 pounds. The Detroit native attended Roseville High School, where he earned four letters and was named MAC White Conference Player of the Year and All-MAC White First Team. He accumulated 1,623 rushing yards and 25 rushing touchdowns, along with 356 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns. A three-star recruit ranked #83 by recruiting services, Straughton redshirted during the 2025 season. Now a redshirt freshman, he majors in kinesiology and returns to the Illinois roster.
